This month's Full Moon occurs on Sunday, July 5th at 12:44 am (EDT) at 13º 37' of the sign of Capricorn, opposite the Sun in Cancer. This month's Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse, the third eclipse of the June/July eclipse season. This eclipse will be visible in the US, although it will only be a slight change in color or a slight shadow effect over the Moon. To see the visibility map, eclipse times and more, click here. This is the final Cancer/Capricorn eclipse until 2027. The tension theme of this eclipse season continues with this Full Moon. By combining the signature essential oils of Capricorn and Cancer, a sense of harmony between the opposite signs can be created, easing the amplified tension of this Full Moon. I chose Lavender as the blend's third oil for its ability to soothe and to help bring feelings of peace and calm.

The Full Moon energy, combined with the eclipse energy, will greatly amplify our feelings and emotions during this time.

Full Moon in Capricorn Diffuser Blend

4 drops German "Blue" Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) (Cancer)

2 drops Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides) (Capricorn)

4 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Add the oils to your favorite diffuser and breathe deeply. Diffusing this blend a few days before, during and a few days after the Full Moon is good timing to take advantage of the soothing effects.

About This Full Moon

It is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace." ~Aristotle

Once again, there is going to be palpable edge and tension during this Full Moon. The planetary interactions, in addition to the eclipse energy, will be intense. Full Moons are culminations of the New Moon in the same sign 6 months prior. The New Moon in Capricorn on December 26, 2019 was a Solar Eclipse with a planetary pile up in Capricorn, which was part of the very beginning of the pandemic. In addition to a maturation of that energy, the tense planetary aspects include themes relating to collective healing, identity, the warrior spirit, honesty and our words, thoughts and communication. This is a good time to reflect on the last six months and how or what you want to release or carry forward. The warrior energy present is related to the planet Mars (will, drive, fight, passion, leadership), which is now in its home sign of Aries, where it will be into early 2021. Do your best to speak from your heart with compassion and not anger. Find healthy ways to express anger and emotion such as martial arts, physical movement or sweaty exercise. The collective battleground is delicate, raw and vulnerable. In the energy of chaos, there is great opportunity for change. Peace and growth would be positive intentions for the outcome of any battles. Themes from the end of 2019/early 2020 may be revisited. Remember that hindsight is 2020! Finding the Cancer/Capricorn axis in your chart can help bring clarity and focus to your reflection. Here are some topics and themes:

What have you learned about nurture, home, family, care, vulnerability and your emotions (Cancer) over the last 18 months?

What societal structures, responsibilities, pressures and shadows (Capricorn) have you faced and released over the last 18 months?

Can you engage in more compassionate honesty with yourself and others?

Over the last month, how have you found opportunity and growth amidst the chaos?

Be sure to honor the energy of the Moon and the eclipse through reverence, gratitude, meditation, energetic protection and inner calm.

We will have one more New Moon in Cancer on July 20th!

The Planetary Parade

(All times below are in EDT)

Have you seen it yet?!

There are 4 planets currently dazzling the night/early morning sky! The Moon will join them during this Full Moon as well. After 10 pm, Jupiter and Saturn are visible, very close together and very bright (Jupiter is the brighter of the two on the right). Mars rises after 12:30 am and will be getting brighter and bigger in the night sky every week throughout the second half of this year. Venus is now visible in the morning sky before sunrise after 3:30 am (Venus Retrograde ended on June 25th). Mercury will be faint in the morning sky before sunrise beginning around the end of the Retrograde on July 12th. I love gazing at the planets! I find it to be one of the best ways to connect with them.
