Virgo Full Moon | Devotion to Surrender

Sadness of Gaia Art from Pinterest

“How can anyone be against love?” – Malcolm X

This month's Full Moon is Saturday, February 27th at 3:18 am (EST) at 8º 57' of Virgo, opposite the Sun in Pisces. The duality of the opposing signs of Virgo (Moon) and Pisces (Sun) is control versus surrender, order versus chaos, perfection versus imperfection. Finding balance in the energy of the two opposing signs may be amplified under the Full Moon energy, however there's an essence of sweetness and a fleeting moment of destiny present. This Full Moon is ruled by Mercury (Virgo) and Jupiter (Pisces), which are conjoined in Aquarius. There may be a feeling of showing devotion and love differently or, coming out of Mercury's recent Aquarius retrograde (1/30 - 2/20), a new sense of liberation, or an unconventional mindset regarding the collective consciousness.

The New Moon in Virgo was on September 17th, 2020.

We'll explore the energetics of the Virgo/Pisces axis, including a few prompts for reflection/journaling, and a personal share, but first, the blend!

Virgo Full Moon Astrological Aromatherapy Blend

Melissa (Melissa officinalis)

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Elemi (Canarium luzonicum)

Melissa (Melissa officinalis), or Lemon Balm, has an ethereal effect and can assist with relaxation into sleep and meditative states. I've read that it can be helpful with the transition between life and death. It also can help support the immune system and reduce germs. It has quite the correspondence with the unseen realms! Lavender is the signature oil for the zodiac sign of Virgo, and is like a Jill of All Trades in the Aromatherapy world. I added Elemi to the blend to enhance and deepen the lemony aroma of Melissa, and also for grounding since it's a resin oil.

I'm going to start branching out a bit with the third oil in these blends. If you haven't experienced Elemi, I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful oil to which I was first introduced during my Aromatherapy studies. Feedback on the blends is always welcome!

The Virgo Full Moon blend is available for purchase here.

Saturday's Full Moon will be influenced by the sweetness of Venus in Pisces, which is one of her favorite signs to occupy. Tap into whatever mode of surrender calls to you. Venus is currently invisible from our perspective, making her journey on the other side of the Sun. Her energy can feel a bit intangible when she's absent from the sky, but we can always connect with her in our hearts through intention, mediation and/or our dreams. The Virgo/Pisces axis is very much about presence, purity and devotion. Virgo is the sign of the Earth Maiden, the Virgin, who finds wholeness within herself. In your journey to self-love and wholeness, what can be surrendered with gratitude, love and grace?

Connect with the unconditional love within your Soul.

How are you perfectly imperfect?

What distracts you from complete presence?

Have you discovered any new loves or devotion in the last six months?

Is there illumination of anything that's curtailing your heart's expansion?

A Personal Share

My natal Moon is in Virgo, but it's the exact opposite of full, in the Balsamic or Dark Moon phase. This Moon phase, which is inclined to prefer working in the shadows, along with a Virgo stellium, has taught me eternal lessons in the art of presence and surrender. Before my re-awakening and meditation practice, I would dwell on things days, months and years in advance, needed everything planned to minute details and was so comfortable being in control of everything. Some of my most important life lessons have come from the Pisces realm, and from learning about the duality of the Virgo/Pisces axis. A messy room is an accomplishment, dirty dishes a welcome ease and presence of mind a daily goal. I've always had a deep affinity for Lavender oil as well, which made so much sense once I learned that it's the signature oil for Virgo. In some branches of Astrology, the Moon sign has way more importance than the Sun. The planet Neptune, in its sojourn through Pisces, has been opposing my natal Moon, which is a once-in-a-lifetime transit that isn't one everyone is fortunate to experience. The lessons in the dynamics of the depths of the Virgo/Pisces axis, and the surrender in the Piscean realm, will be ongoing for me for many more years to come!

Do you have a Virgo Moon or natal Virgo planets?

Have you experienced lessons similar to my own?
